USA Tour 2016 - Dallas

Friday 25th November 2016
Brisbane West Wellcamp Airport


The tour gathered at Brisbane West Wellcamp Airport on Friday morning for our departure to Sydney.  Check in was made very easy by the helpful staff at the airport.  Everyone was excited to start our journey!

 Dallas Fort Worth International Airport

The transfer to the International Terminal was seamless and we arrived with plenty of time for our 3:05pm flight.  Not everyone managed to sleep on the plane, but we arrived in Dallas in excitement in the air.  The girls were greeted like rockstars with balloons, cheers, smiles, many photographs and more excitement.  Everyone is now with their homestay family ready to begin the weekend.

Brescia House School - Day 7 (Wednesday 17th August)


On the last day of the group visit we held a farewell reception and thank you for host families.  The girls spent the day enjoying classes and saying goodbye to new friends.  We had a wonderful time sharing our Ursuline College with the girls from Brescia House School!

Brescia House School - Day 6 (Tuesday 16th August)


The girls arrived at College excited after their long weekend adventures.  Brescia girls participated in the morning routine of classes before departing on the College Bus to visit Highfields Pioneer Village.  The Pioneer Village is a preserved heritage tourist attraction which visitors can explore heritage buildings, traditional billy tea and damper, have fun learning about indigenous culture and throw a boomerang.







Brescia House School - Homestay Weekend

The group enjoyed a "long weekend" with their homestay families.  Many adventures were enjoyed with the girls exploring different places around the local area.

Brescia House School - Day 2 (Friday 12th August)

The Brescia girls enjoyed morning classes with their host sisters before heading to the Toowoomba City Council Chambers for a tour and afternoon tea hosted by Councillor Geoff McDonald.  Cr McDonald was happy to show the group around the Mayor's office.  They even got to sit in the Mayor's chair!

Brescia House School - Day 1 (Thursday 11th August)

A little bit jet-lagged but keen to explore a day at St Ursula's College, the girls embraced learning about different subjects and getting to know the College environment.  

The afternoon was a quick tour of the city, stopping briefly at Picnic Point.  

Picnic Point is situated approx. 700metres above sea level and has sweeping views of the range below.

Brescia House School visits Toowoomba!


Wednesday evening 10th August we welcomed 11 students and 2 staff from Brescia House School [South Africa].  

The students are visiting for a week and will home-stay with our girls.  They will attend classes and experience life in Australia.

New Caledonia Tour 2016

On Thursday 23rd June 2016, 19 Students, Mrs Brown and Ms Jarrett departed for the French Language tour of New Caledonia.  New Caledonia is situation approximately 1500kms east of Australia's coast.  The capital is Noumea, where the group stayed for 8 days.

Some of the itinerary included;

  • Exploring the area on the Tchou-Tchou train
  • CREIPAC lessons 
  • Amedee Island
  • Aquarium
  • Tjibaou Cultural Centre
  • Baie des Citrons

Mater Dei Thailand Group Visit - March 2016

Visiting the Mayor of Toowoomba and Council Chambers

The Thailand students visited the Toowoomba City Mayor - Paul Antonio on Wednesday.  The girls enjoyed an afternoon tea and toured the Council  Chambers.

Mater Dei Thailand Group Visit - March 2016

On Sunday 6th March, 2016 a group of 18 students and 2 staff from Mater Dei Ursuline School in Thailand arrived for a 2 week stay.  The girls will be accommodated in our boarding house during their stay.

Day 1 - Monday
The girls enjoyed a welcome and morning tea with their "buddies" and familiarised themselves with the College grounds.  They also attended their first classes.

Day 2 - Tuesday
International W omen's Day is celebrated at the College with a morning Assembly and lunch time Market Stalls.  The group enjoyed the activities and classes before taking a short drive to Highfields Pioneer Village (http://www.highfieldspioneervillage.com.au/).  Here they participated in an Indigenous workshop learning to throw a Boomerang, make Billy Tea and enjoyed Damper (a traditional Australian bread baked in the coals of a campfire.)




Day 4 - Thursday
The group took a bus trip to Brisbane and visited Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary (http://www.koala.net/index.php?lang=en) Lone Pine is a wonderful opportunity to get up close to the Australian Wildlife and the girls took the opportunity to feed Kangaroos & Lorikeets and cuddle Koalas.


Day 5 - Friday
The girls walked to a local park close to the College (Laurel Bank Park) to experience some of the lovely gardens.


Day 7 - Dreamworld (Gold Coast)
The beautiful Gold Coast provided an exciting day for the girls on Sunday.  The group boarded a bus for a 2 hour drive to the Gold Coast where they walked on the beach followed by a day at Dreamworld (https://www.dreamworld.com.au/)
